Position Overview
  • Worker Type: Regular
  • Job Title: RN - Pediatric
  • Department: Med Surg - 4N
  • Schedule: Full Time, Night Shift, 36 Hours/Week (7 PM - 7 AM), Every 3rd Weekend
  • Sign-On Bonus: Discuss available options with your recruiter! Note: A two-year service commitment is required for external qualified candidates.
  • Experience: Background in pediatric hematology/oncology is advantageous.
  • Shift Differentials: Available for night and weekend shifts
  • Location: Our Children’s Hospital
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and oversee patient care plans.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions as necessary.
  • Act as the primary coordinator among various disciplines to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Execute physician and nursing orders accurately.
  • Assess and manage patient discharge planning in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Maintain a vigilant and safe working environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
  • Experience: No prior experience is required.
Physical Requirements
  • Regular verbal communication to convey information.
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling items weighing between 0-25 lbs.
  • Regular sitting, reaching, and data entry tasks.
  • Frequent visual acuity for near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, including color differentiation.
  • Regular use of smell for odor detection.
  • Frequent auditory skills to receive verbal communication and identify alarms or machinery issues.
  • Occasional lifting of objects weighing 25-50 lbs and moving patients.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive movements.
  • Rarely involves crawling or running.
