PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aviation and aerospace organization to find an experienced Avionics Technician V who thrives on complex aircraft modifications, advanced avionics systems, and mission-critical performance.
As an Avionics Technician V, you'll serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting sophisticated aircraft avionics installations, modifications, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities. You will play a critical role in ensuring aircraft systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently while providing technical leadership to fellow technicians.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
Perform advanced avionics maintenance in accordance with FAA, FCC, and company standards
Lead and support aircraft ISR integration and modification projects
Install, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain avionics systems and components
Oversee and support avionics wiring installations, repairs, and modifications
Route wiring and harnesses according to technical drawings and engineering specifications
Assemble, terminate, inspect, and test aircraft harnesses and electrical systems
Conduct connector termination, ring-out testing, continuity checks, and functional testing
Maintain and calibrate avionics test equipment, tools, and technical manuals
Interpret complex schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and technical publications
Mentor, train, guide, and inspect the work of junior technicians
Support aircraft inspections and ensure compliance with quality and safety requirements
Candidates should have hands-on experience terminating and working with:
COAX
CIR-MIL
RJ-45 Network Connectors
D-SUB Connectors
Experience with the following is highly desirable:
TRIAX Assemblies
QUADRAX Assemblies
Fiber Optic Assemblies
El Ochito RF Connectors
Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
15+ years of relevant avionics experience
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Strong avionics maintenance background

Ability to read, interpret, and work from:
Technical schematics
Wiring diagrams
Aircraft blueprints
Maintenance manuals
Technical publications
Experience routing wires according to technical drawings

Proficiency in:
Avionics installation tooling
Wiring and wiring installation
Wiring repair
Soldering
Crimping techniques

Basic understanding of:
Oscilloscopes
Spectrometers
Pitot-static equipment
Ability to supply and maintain personal tools in good working condition
Preferred Qualifications
Highly qualified candidates may also have:
Previous Lead Technician or Team Lead experience
Proven ability to mentor, coach, and develop technicians
Familiarity with FCC regulations
FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL)
Aerospace and Defense industry experience
U.S. Department of Defense or Military aviation background
Experience supporting aircraft modification programs

Pay Details: $52.00 per hour
