Position: Physician (Neurology) - Fort Carson, Colorado

Key Responsibilities:

• Function as a physician specializing in Traumatic Brain Injury within the Neurology field, responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of outpatients in the clinic.
• Offer evaluations or recommendations for neurology-related issues in the referral area via phone consultations, telemedicine, and the authorization and assessment of air evacuation patients as necessary.
• Prepare, write, and dictate medical summaries for medical retention boards.
• Draft or dictate physical profiles, medical evaluation boards, fitness for duty assessments, and other relevant documentation as required.
• Supervise, instruct, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, medical students, interns, residents, and fellows.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

To qualify, candidates must fulfill the educational and experiential criteria outlined below. Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid roles, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, community, student, social). All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be credited. Your resume should clearly detail your relevant experience; if qualifying through education, transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Basic Requirements for Physician (Neurology):

Degree: A Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by recognized bodies such as the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association or the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. For foreign medical degrees, education and medical knowledge must be equivalent to accredited U.S. schools, demonstrated by permanent certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination. Licensure: Candidates must hold a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.

Graduate Training: Following the attainment of a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, candidates must have completed at least one year of supervised clinical experience, such as a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an accredited hospital or institution.

In addition to the basic requirements, candidates must also meet the following qualifications:

Residency Training: Applicants must have successfully completed accredited residency training in the specialty of Neurology, along with equivalent experience and training totaling at least four years. Experience cannot substitute for the required residency training for this specialty.
