Position Title: Physician (Family Medicine) - Fort Riley, KS

About the Role: This opportunity is situated at Fort Riley, Kansas. It is a Direct Hire Solicitation, and candidates new to Federal service may have the chance to negotiate their salary. Federal civilian healthcare providers are not required to carry medical malpractice liability insurance, as they are protected under the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while performing their duties.

• Adhere to hospital policies and regulations, ensuring patient access to appropriate medical care and referrals to other healthcare providers.
• Deliver direct patient care within a Medical Treatment Facility.
• Provide consultative opinions to fellow physicians and healthcare personnel, supervising care provided by non-physicians.
• Maintain health and clinical records in compliance with current regulations and standards.
• Determine when to seek advice and guidance as necessary.

To qualify, candidates must meet the educational and experiential criteria outlined below. Experience includes both paid and unpaid roles, such as volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, community, student, or social). All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be credited. Your resume should clearly detail your relevant experience; if qualifying through education, transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Basic Requirements for Physician (Family Practice):

• Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution in the United States or Canada. This degree must be recognized by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association, the Association of American Medical Colleges, the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, or the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or another accrediting body acknowledged by the U.S. Department of Education at the time of graduation. For degrees from foreign medical schools, education and medical knowledge must be equivalent to accredited U.S. institutions, demonstrated by permanent certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the U.S. and graduate education abroad, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.
• Licensure: Candidates must hold a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
• Graduate Training: Following the attainment of a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, candidates must have at least one year of supervised clinical experience, such as a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an accredited hospital or institution.
• Residency Training: Applicants must have successfully completed accredited residency training in the relevant specialty (Family Medicine) and possess equivalent experience and training totaling at least four years. Experience cannot substitute for the required residency training for the specified specialty.
