Machine OperativeAbout the RoleHours - 3 shift rotation Monday to Friday - 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm and 10pm - 6am rotating weeklySalary - Starting from £29,000 P/AWe are looking for a motivated and reliable Machine Operative to join our clients production team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating slitting, punch, and micro-perforation machinery to produce high-quality finished products to precise customer specifications.Working as part of our manufacturing team, you will play a key role in helping the business achieve its production, quality, and customer service objectives while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and housekeeping.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate slitting, punch, and micro-perforation machines to customer specifications.Maintain high housekeeping standards, ensuring equipment and work areas remain clean, organised, and safe.Carry out pre-operational inspections and promptly report any equipment faults or production issues.Follow all quality procedures and customer requirements, ensuring products meet specification at every stage.Monitor print position, repeat lengths, and material quality, reporting any defects immediately.Cut cores accurately while minimising waste through efficient material usage.Record production data accurately and ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved.Weigh, label, load, and unload finished products using safe manual handling techniques and lifting equipment where required.Carry out routine preventative maintenance (PPM) on machinery and report any major maintenance requirements.Adhere to all Health & Safety policies, safe working practices, and PPE requirements.Ensure compliance with BRC, FSC, and company procedures at all times.Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive and productive team environment.Report all health and safety concerns, near misses, and incidents, and support investigations where required.Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by your Supervisor or Management.What We're Looking ForThe successful candidate will:Have experience setting up and operating machinery.Be quality-focused with excellent attention to detail.Be able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Demonstrate a proactive approach to health and safety.Be a reliable team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.Be able to complete production records accurately and follow written procedures.Why Join?You'll be joining a supportive manufacturing team where quality, safety, and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do.
