Systems Operations Lead

I'm hiring as a Systems Operations Lead, offering a great mix of hands-on technical work and leadership. The team is looking for someone who can lead engineers, manage operational delivery, and bring a strong infrastructure background across areas such as Windows, Linux, storage, and backup technologies.

Hybrid working: 3 days a week in London

Duration: Initial 6 months

Day Rate: up to £800pd inside IR35 via umbrella

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day infrastructure operations, ensuring incidents, service requests and operational activities are managed effectively.
\n
• Oversee Windows, Linux, storage and backup environments, ensuring platform stability and resilience.
\n
• Manage operational delivery while parallel transformation and modernisation initiatives are underway.
\n
• Coordinate and support a team of technical SMEs, ensuring workloads are prioritised and delivered effectively.
\n
• Act as an escalation point for operational and infrastructure-related issues.
\n
• Drive service reliability, operational excellence and continuous improvement across the environment.
\n

Required Experience

\n
• Strong infrastructure background with experience across Linux and Windows server environments.
\n
• Good understanding of storage, backup and wider infrastructure technologies.
\n
• Experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Infrastructure Operations, or Production Support environments.
\n
• Proven experience leading and developing technical teams.
\n
• Comfortable remaining hands-on and involved in technical delivery on a daily basis.
\n
• Ability to balance operational responsibilities alongside ongoing transformation programmes.
\n
