Our Major Projects team is growing, and we're excited to welcome a talented Project Manager, Major Projects to join us.As Project Manager within our Major Projects team, you will lead the successful delivery of primary substations, electricity, gas and water connection projects, ranging from LV to 132kV and LP to MP. You will also manage complex installations for developments often linked to downstream commercial, industrial and residential networks. From planning through to completion, you will oversee the safe and effective running of each site while working closely with the many stakeholders involved.The role will cover the Southwest of England, with occasional travel to other locations across the UK to support project delivery.Whats in it for you as a Project Manager, Major Projects?Here at Last Mile, we pride ourselves in providing a great range of benefits including a fantastic amount of annual leave, including a Christmas shut down.25 days holiday, increasing after 2 years by 1 day each year up to 30 days, plus 9 public holidaysHoliday buy schemeDiscretionary bonusEV and ULEV salary sacrifice scheme (subject to minimum length of service)Cycle to work salary sacrifice schemeUp to 7% employer pension contributionVolunteering DayLife assurance (x4 annual basic salary)Retail, travel and leisure discounts via our MilesMore benefits platformRefer a friend incentiveStream Financial wellbeing platformEmployee assistance programmeCar allowanceFlexible start and finish times for eligible roles*Private medical insurance*Company sick pay**Some of our benefits are only applicable when you have successfully completed your probation period*Your responsibilities as a Project Manager, Major Projects:Take ownership of project safety and quality, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, operational safety rules and all relevant health and safety file requirements, including accurate as-built drawings.Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements, work instructions and other safety related documentation to support safe and effective project delivery.Work closely with the Major Projects coordination team to plan, monitor and maintain project programmes, helping to ensure schemes are delivered on time and within budget.Plan, coordinate and supervise electrical installation works, including cable jointing, excavation and reinstatement, cable installation, earthing, commissioning and energisation across primary substations and other complex sites.Coordinate major plant deliveries, long lead materials and project resources, working with internal teams, subcontractors and suppliers to keep activity on track.Maintain clear communication with clients, local authorities, DNOs, iDNOs and internal teams, providing weekly progress updates, supporting commercial forecasting and helping to identify any contract variations in good time.Experience / Knowledge:Experienced in managing multiple projects across different locationsConstruction site experiencePrevious experience of power distribution networksExperienced in managing internal and external labourIT literate, specifically in Microsoft Outlook, Word & ExcelPrevious primary substation installation experience and knowledge (desirable)Knowledge of NEC contracts (desirable)Competency to work in substation up to 132kV (desirable)QualificationsQualification in Electrical Engineering e.g. C&G, ONC, HNC & Degree (equivalent Engineering qualifications may be considered)Have you got the drive to go to the Last Mile as a Project Manager, Major Projects?
