Senior Electronics Engineer

Our client designs a range of state-of-the-art solutions in electro-optic (Optronics) systems in support of land, sea and air forces.We are recruiting for a Senior Electronics Engineer for a contract position based in Glasgow, this position offer hybrid working but will require 3 days per week on-site.This role is working on mixed signal electronics design and development. It will cover all aspects of the product lifecycle, from requirements through specification, concept studies, design and development, integration, validation and qualification.Key responsibilities of the roleUndertake design of complex electronic circuit assemblies or architectures, from concept through to system integration & qualificationLead discussions with a multi-disciplinary team (systems, mechanical, software, safety, etc) to develop an optimum solutionWork collaboratively with the project team to ensure products meet all their requirements and comply with regulatory safety and environmental standardsContribute to the development of the wider electronics team, including mentoring junior members of staff, overseeing the implementation of improvements and reviewing the work of peersGenerate electronics specifications, architectures, and development or verification planSupport the bid process through generation of estimates and consultancy on electronic solutionPresent robust engineering solutions at design reviewsMonitor progress of work against cost, schedule and performanceKey skills requiredProven ability in electronic design throughout the design lifecyclePrevious use of schematic capture packages (Cadence, Mentor Graphics or similar)Development of electronic products in a formal environmentTesting at circuit board and system level (eg. board bring-up and debug, EMC)Preparation of sub-system requirements/procurement specsGeneral understanding of engineering process and design lifecyclesMixed signal electronics design, both analogue & digital,Knowledge of Power, signal conditioning, video/camera interfaces,AdditionalWe seek an Electronics Engineer who has worked in a military / defence environment / industry within the last 12 months or who can obtain UK security clearance to SC level.TPBN1_UKTJ
