Senior Infrastructure Engineer/Monitoring SME

We are looking for an experienced Monitoring & Infrastructure Engineer with strong Microsoft SCOM expertise, solid Windows Server (Wintel) skills, and hands-on experience in hybrid on-premise and Azure environments.The role focusses on supporting and enhancing enterprise monitoring and observability platforms, while also providing 3rd line infrastructure support across Windows, VMware, and Azure-based systems. The engineer will support BAU operations and project delivery within a large-scale enterprise environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and improve monitoring platforms including SCOM, Azure Monitor, PRTG, and VMware Aria OperationsDevelop and tune alerts, dashboards, and service views to improve proactive monitoring and reduce noise.Build and maintain SCOM Management Packs and monitoring configurationsAutomate monitoring and health checks using PowerShellProvide 3rd line support for Windows Server and VMware environmentsSupport Azure hybrid services, including Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure ArcWork with infrastructure, cloud, application, and security teams on service onboarding, incidents, and RCAIntegrate monitoring tools with ITSM platforms (e.g. ServiceNow)Essential SkillsStrong Windows Server administration and troubleshooting experienceHands-on experience with SCOM and enterprise monitoring toolsExperience in hybrid cloud (on-prem + Azure) environmentsPowerShell scripting for automationKnowledge of VMware, monitoring concepts, and ITIL processesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDesirableSCOM Management Pack authoring/tuningDevOps / CI/CD exposureSIEM or security-monitoring integrationsLinux (RHEL) experienceEnterprise-scale infrastructure backgroundThis position will cover a duration of up to 6 months. There is a hybrid working policy and will require you to work 3 days per week on-site. This position is also subject to SC level security clearance.
