Finance ManagerEdinburgh (Hybrid Working)Temporary with opportunity to go permanentPart Time – 28 hours per weekBrightwork are delighted to be supporting our public sector client in the recruitment of a Finance Manager based in Edinburgh.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a respected public sector organisation and take ownership of the finance function, providing strategic financial leadership and ensuring the highest standards of financial governance, compliance and reporting.Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services, the Finance Manager will be the organisation's lead finance professional, overseeing an annual budget of approximately £7 million and acting as the key adviser on all financial matters. This role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to influence decision-making at senior leadership level.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the finance function and line manage the Finance OfficerPrepare and present financial reports, analysis and advice to senior leadership and the BoardManage annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processesLead year-end accounts preparation and coordinate external and internal auditsOversee payroll processes and annual pay award implementationEnsure robust financial controls, policies, procedures and risk management frameworks are in placeSupport procurement activity and deliver value for money across the organisationManage relationships with external service providers and shared service arrangementsDrive continuous improvement across financial systems and processesEnsure compliance with relevant public sector financial regulations and governance requirementsAbout YouWe're keen to speak with qualified finance professionals who can demonstrate:A recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, CIPFA or equivalent)Significant experience within a public sector finance environmentStrong financial management, budgeting, forecasting and statutory reporting expertiseExperience leading audit processes and maintaining effective financial controlsPayroll oversight experienceExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsThe ability to work independently and provide strategic financial advice to senior leadersPrevious people management experienceExposure to Scottish Government frameworks, public sector governance requirements and shared service finance systems would be advantageous.What's on OfferHybrid working arrangementEdinburgh city centre locationSupportive and collaborative working environmentOpportunities for ongoing professional developmentA varied and influential role within a values-driven public sector organisationThe opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that supports communities across ScotlandIf you are an experienced finance professional looking for a senior role where you can make a tangible impact, we would be delighted to hear from you.To discuss this opportunity in confidence or apply, please contact Brightwork today07779 858 438Brightwork Ltd offers the services of an employment agency for permanent roles and an employment business for temporary roles.
