Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company, to recruit for Chief (Principal) Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to support with DCS, failsafe, PLCs and Cyber Security across their fleet of Energy from Waste Power Stations. This will be a hybrid role with national travel.The vital Chief C&I Engineer role comes with a basic salary of c.£78,000 + £6,500 car allowance + overtime + up to 10% bonus + Private Medical + Benefits.If you're an experienced C&I Engineer and are looking to work for a leading organisation who invests in training and professional development of their employees, then upload your CV to apply today.Responsibilities and duties of the Chief C&I Engineer roleReporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for:Setting standards across the sites undertaking planned and unplanned maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient operation across the fleetCarry out plant inspections and area safety inspectionsWork as part of the central engineering team for continuous improvement to minimis H&S risks across the fleetBe the subject matter expert for ATEX, functional safety, Beames, DCS, operational technology and cyber securitySupport the fleet during times of outages and system upgradesProvide technical support for DCS, PLC and SCADA systems including logic, configuration, graphics, I/O and interface management.Develop and maintain C&I specifications, standards, philosophies and engineering documentationSupport the functional safety lifecycle in accordance with IEC 61511Professional qualificationsWe are looking for someone with the following:A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering subjectA formal Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSHA full UK driving licence is a necessity given the nature of the roleA functional safety certificate (TUV or ISA) will be advantageousPersonal Skills, Prior Experience and KnowledgeThe Chief C&I Engineer role would suit someone who has:Experience working in industrial engineering environments such as Power Stations, Petrochemicals, Paper Mills, Steelworks, Refineries, etc.Extensive experience working with DCS/PLC systemsGood knowledge of CMMSFunctional safety lifecycle experienceOperational Technology network and cyber security awarenessSalary and benefits of the Control and Instrumentation Engineer roleA starting basic salary of c.£78,000 (DOE)£6,500 car allowance per annumOvertimeUp to 10% BonusPrivate medicalTravel expensesOther company benefits#LI-WG1INDPOWAstute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
