\nBuild Your Career in Specialist Employment Law
\nAre you a newly qualified solicitor, or have up to two years' post-qualification experience, and want to build your career in specialist employment law?
\nMy Law Solicitors is a growing specialist employment law firm based in Wakefield. We advise employees and employers across England and Wales, with a strong reputation for providing clear, practical advice and exceptional client care.
\nWe're looking for an enthusiastic Employment Solicitor to join our close-knit team.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity to develop your career alongside two experienced Employment Solicitors, gaining hands-on experience from day one whilst receiving the support and mentoring needed to build your confidence and expertise.
\nUnlike many larger firms, you won't spend your first years sitting on the sidelines. You'll work directly with clients, develop your own caseload and become an integral part of a growing specialist practice.
\nAbout Us
\nWe're a family-run law firm with a simple philosophy: provide outstanding legal advice whilst creating a supportive place to work.
\nWe believe solicitors produce their best work when they are trusted, supported and given realistic workloads. We don't believe in unnecessary pressure, excessive billing targets or a culture of staying late simply for appearances.
\nInstead, we offer structured working practices, genuine teamwork and an environment where everyone supports one another.
\nAs a specialist employment law firm, every member of our team works exclusively within employment law, allowing you to develop real expertise in this area from the very beginning of your career.
\nThe Role
\nYour work will include advising clients across a broad range of employment law matters, including:
\n- \n
- Settlement Agreements \n
- Unfair dismissal \n
- Discrimination \n
- Grievances and disciplinary matters \n
- Redundancy \n
- Workplace disputes \n
- Employment Tribunal matters \n
A significant proportion of your work will involve advising clients on Settlement Agreements, explaining legal advice in plain English, negotiating with employers and helping clients achieve the best possible outcome.
\nYou'll quickly gain responsibility for your own files whilst working closely with Leah and Balal, who will provide ongoing support, guidance and supervision as your experience develops.
\nAbout You
\nWe're looking for someone who:
\n- \n
- Is a qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with a current practising certificate. \n
- Is newly qualified or has up to two years' PQE. \n
- Has previous employment law experience, whether gained during training, as a paralegal or since qualification. \n
- Has excellent communication and client care skills. \n
- Enjoys speaking directly with clients and building relationships. \n
- Is organised, motivated and eager to learn. \n
- Wants to build a long-term career in specialist employment law. \n
- Can reliably commute to our Wakefield office. \n
Previous employment law experience is essential.
\nWhat We Offer
\n- \n
- Salary of £35,000-£40,000 depending on experience. \n
- Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm working hours. \n
- 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays. \n
- Christmas office closure. \n
- Company pension. \n
- Free on-site parking. \n
- A supportive and collaborative working environment. \n
- Ongoing mentoring from experienced Employment Solicitors. \n
- Early client exposure and genuine responsibility. \n
- The opportunity to become a key part of a growing specialist law firm. \n
Why Join My Law Solicitors?
\nJoining a smaller specialist firm gives you opportunities that are often difficult to find elsewhere.
\nYou'll work directly with experienced employment solicitors every day, develop strong client relationships, gain meaningful responsibility from an early stage and play an important role in the continued growth of the firm.
\nIf you're looking for a supportive environment where you can genuinely develop as an employment solicitor, we'd love to hear from you.
