2nd Line IT Support & Field Engineer | Office-Based (Liverpool) + Regular Customer Site Travel | £30,000 – £34,000 DOE & Great Benefits | Full UK Driving Licence Essential

Not your average Helpdesk role.

We need a 2nd Line IT Support & Field Engineer who's just as happy resolving escalated tickets as they are on-site terminating cable or installing a new network.

You'll own problems end-to-end, work independently, and have real say in front of customers.

IT Answers has a growing UK technical team, with a clear path toward a senior infrastructure or field-project role.

What You'll Be Doing

\n
• Resolving escalated 2nd-line tickets — hardware, software, networking, M365, AD, DNS/DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, VLANs, Wi-Fi
\n
• Attending customer sites for reactive fixes, installs and infrastructure projects
\n
• Installing/replacing PCs, printers, access points, switches, firewalls and routers
\n
• Installing and terminating Cat5e/Cat6 cabling, patch panels and cabinets
\n
• Keeping documentation, network diagrams and handover notes sharp
\n
• Covering the field rota during busy periods, holidays and sickness
\n

What You'll Bring

\n
• 2nd-line support, infrastructure or MSP engineering experience
\n
• Strong Windows troubleshooting + hands-on Microsoft 365 admin
\n
• Active Directory, Group Policy, TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP/VPN/VLAN/firewall knowledge
\n
• Experience installing and terminating Cat5e/Cat6 cabling and network kit
\n
• Confidence attending sites independently, with strong customer-facing skills
\n
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
\n

Bonus: MSP background, UniFi/Fortinet/SonicWall/DrayTek, Windows Server, Intune, VoIP, fibre/structured cabling, rack installation, Cyber Essentials, RMM/PSA platforms, or relevant certs.
