Contract EHS Advisor - Europe (Traveling Role)

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Contract EHS Advisor to support the delivery of Environment, Health & Safety programmes across multiple project and operational sites throughout Europe. This role is ideal for a proactive EHS professional who thrives in diverse cultural and regulatory environments, maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance.
\nDay-to-day of the role:

Site Auditing and Assurance:
\n- \n
- Conduct planned EHS audits across project sites throughout Europe. \n
- Assess compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable local legislation. \n
- Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement and provide practical recommendations. \n
- Produce high-quality audit reports with clear corrective and preventive actions. \n
- Support the development and implementation of site improvement plans. \n

Incident Investigation:

- Lead and support investigations into accidents, incidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions. \n
- Conduct root cause analysis using recognised methodologies. \n
- Prepare detailed investigation reports and present findings to management teams. \n
- Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions. \n
- Share lessons learned across the business to prevent recurrence. \n

Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
\n- \n
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, site managers, project teams, and contractors. \n
- Provide EHS advice and guidance to operational teams and management. \n
- Act as a trusted advisor to site leadership teams on EHS matters. \n

EHS Leadership and Support:
\n- \n
- Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across all locations. \n
- Deliver EHS briefings, workshops, and awareness sessions. \n
- Monitor performance against EHS objectives and key performance indicators. \n

Required Skills & Qualifications:
\n- \n
- NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum. \n
- Relevant EHS qualification or equivalent professional certification. \n
- Demonstrable experience in health and safety roles within construction or data centre environments. \n
- Strong experience conducting site audits and compliance assessments. \n
- Excellent understanding of EHS legislation and international standards. \n
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across Europe. \n
Desirable Qualifications:
\n- \n
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent higher-level qualification. \n
- ISO 45001 Lead Auditor qualification. \n
- Environmental qualification (IEMA or equivalent). \n
- Membership of IOSH (TechIOSH, GradIOSH, or CMIOSH). \n
- Additional European language skills. \n

Travel Requirements:
\nThis role involves extensive travel throughout Europe, including frequent overnight stays and occasional short-notice travel to support operational requirements, incident investigations, and client needs. The successful candidate should expect to spend a significant proportion of their time visiting project and operational sites across multiple countries.
