People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Coventry, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, no handball work, paid breaks, ongoing work and genuine opportunities for long-term employment.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, Articulated Lorry Driver or Class 1 Delivery Driver.

Shifts

 • Monday to Friday
\n  • AM starts between 00:00 – 04:00 or PM starts between 13:00 – 21:00
\n  • Regular weekend overtime available
\n  • Long shifts available to maximise earnings

Rates of Pay

AM Shifts

 • £17.86 per hour
\n  • £22.33 per hour after 9 hours
\n  • £35.73 per hour on the sixth shift

PM Shifts

 • £19.05 per hour
\n  • £23.81 per hour after 9 hours
\n  • £38.11 per hour on the sixth shift

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:

 • Completing RDC and brewery deliveries using curtain-sider vehicles
\n  • No handball required
\n  • Completing vehicle checks before and after each shift
\n  • Ensuring loads are secure and compliant
\n  • Following delivery schedules and routes efficiently
\n  • Adhering to all road traffic legislation and company procedures

Essential Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

 • Valid UK Category CE (Class 1) Driving Licence
\n  • Minimum twelve months' Class 1 driving experience
\n  • Valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
\n  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences
\n  • Good communication skills
\n  • Professional and reliable approach to work

Desirable Experience

 • Previous RDC delivery experience
\n  • Curtain-sider experience
\n  • Brewery or multi-drop experience would be advantageous

Training Provided

 • Driver assessment required prior to start
\n  • One-day paid induction
\n  • Ongoing support and development
