\nThe role:
\nReporting directly to the Transport Manager, the job holder will be responsible for assisting in the safe and efficient operation of the Companys collection services and the defined areas of responsibility within the business.As the face of our business, the jobholder will ensure full compliance with all legislation regarding drivers activities and make every effort to ensure that all customers receive a high standard of service on the due day.
\nThe job holder will be required to drive and operate Roll-On, Roll-Off skip vehicles and depending on the operational needs of the business.
\nDuties:
\nEnsuring that all transport compliance, legislation and in-house procedures are always complied with.
\nWorking with the Transport Manager, ensure all vehicles are always serviced and maintained in a fit and road worthy condition in accordance with the Companys Operating License requirements.
\nBe always prepared for any unscheduled checks and inspection by the Board of Directors or any representative of a regulatory authority.
\nPerforming Daily vehicles checks / defect reporting.
\nCarrying out all driving duties in a safe manner as instructed by the Transport Manager.
\nMust adhere to Tachograph & Working Time Directive Regulations.
\nMust adhere to company health & safety regulations.
\nWorking week Monday - Friday with rota for Saturday & Sunday duties.
\nDelivering, through the Transport Manager and operations team an agreed service level in line with Company KPIs.
\nAdopt a proactive approach to help achieve fleet productivity targets.
\nEnsuring all accidents and injuries are reported promptly and correctly.
\nProducing and completing drivers paperwork.
\nSkills & experience:
\nEducated to a reasonable standard
\nCurrent Class 2 driving licence essential
\nADR certified would be a distinct advantage or willing to obtain
\nHolder of digital tachograph card
\nUp to date with CPC training hours requirement
\nThe ideal candidate:
\nExperienced in multi-lift operations within a client facing environment.
\nConfident communicator with colleagues and clients, understanding the need to represent the Company in a positive, courteous manner always.
\nBe fully conversant with all legislation and compliance relating to the transport industry
\nPractical hands on approach, promoting a can do attitude from self and others
\nGood geographical knowledge of the operational area covered by the Company
\nMust be flexible to support the growth of the company.
