\nWe help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. \nThis role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.\n
What will you be doing?\n
\nWere looking for a Systems Optimisation Engineer to join our Thames Water Lot 3 contract, supporting our Network Operations Team across London and the Thames Valley.\n
\nIn this role, youll be at the heart of solving pressure-related challengesinvestigating low-pressure issues, customer complaints and critical alarms, then developing smart, data-led solutions to keep our network performing at its best.\n
\nYoull monitor DMA and DM availability, support technical fixes, and create robust risk assessments for activities impacting the clean water network. From pressure-managed areas to asset operations and outage planning, youll ensure all work aligns with Thames Waters Asset Management Procedures.\n
\nYoull also dig into long-term network behaviourshead loss, low flows, supply resilience and water quality trendsusing operational data to spot issues, improve system integrity and update hydraulic schematics that guide future decisions.\n
What youll bring\n

  • Proven experience and track record of network operations and a knowledge of key activities such as valve operations, mains flushing and issuing/compliance with permits to work
  • \n
  • Have a clear understanding of the Permit to Work system
  • \n
  • Have previous knowledge and experience with GIS mapping software and hydraulic modelling. This is preferred, but not mandatory
  • \n
