Workchain Recruitment is currently recruiting for experienced HGV Class 2 (Category C) Refuse Drivers on behalf of a well-established local authority based in Ilkeston.

As an HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver, you will play a key role in supporting the local refuse collection service, ensuring waste is collected safely and efficiently across the borough.

Your responsibilities will include:

  Driving a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle on planned collection routes.

\n
• \n

  Working alongside a team of loaders to complete daily refuse rounds.

\n
• \n

  Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks before each shift.

\n
• \n

  Operating the vehicle safely while maintaining awareness of colleagues working around the vehicle.

\n
• \n

  Following all DVSA regulations, road traffic laws and health & safety procedures.

\n
• \n

  Completing any required paperwork accurately.

\n

Please note: This is a driving-only role. You will be supported by a dedicated team of loaders, so no manual loading or handball is required.

  6:30am starts

  Finish times vary depending on the route

  Approximately 3745 hours per week

To be considered for this role, you must have:

\n
• \n

  A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence.

\n
• \n

  A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.

\n
• \n

  A valid Digital Tachograph Card.

\n
• \n

  Ideally a minimum of 6 months' Class 2 driving experience.

\n
• \n

  No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements).

\n
• \n

  Safety boots and a high-visibility vest.

\n
• \n

  A reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach to work.

\n

  £15 - £17 per hour

\n
• \n
