Class 1 Driver

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Bicester area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am start

Pay Rates: £16.36 per hour PAYE with overtime at £24.52 after 40 hours.

Location: Bicester, OX26 6GF

Start Date: 03.08.2026

Job Type: Temp until end of August

The role:

Collect parcels from well-known customers, including full trailer collections and deliveries - Up to 7 per day

Manual handling is heavily involved, and drivers will assist with loading and unloading of parcels at the depot and customer locations.

Handling devices and company software to update delivery status and communicating with the depot.

Reversing in the yard and manoeuvring vehicles with precision, including shunting duties when required.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.

Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.

Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:

12 months experience required

Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).

Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.

No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).

Full understanding of WTD legislation.

Excellent communication skills.

A safety-first mindset.
