Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home\n
Location: Greater Manchester\n
Salary: Up to £60,000 + Benefits\n

\nA growing children's residential care provider is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead the opening of a brand-new children's home in Greater Manchester.\n
\n Supporting children and young people aged 8-17 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities (LD), this is a unique opportunity to join during the pre-registration phase and play a key role in creating an exceptional home from the very beginning.\n
\n Working within a trauma-informed and therapeutic model of care, you'll have the opportunity to shape the culture, recruit your team and establish a service with the ambition of achieving an Outstanding Ofsted rating.\n
\nThe Role\n
\nAs the Registered Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and full compliance with Children's Homes Regulations.\n
\n Key responsibilities include:\n
\n
    \n
  • Registering with Ofsted as the Registered Manager.
  • \n
  • Leading, developing and inspiring a residential care team.
  • \n
  • Creating a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive.
  • \n
  • Overseeing care planning, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
  • \n
  • Acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
  • \n
  • Ensuring compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • \n
  • Managing Regulation 40 notifications, Regulation 44 visits and Regulation 45 quality assurance processes.
  • \n
  • Building excellent relationships with local authorities, social workers, families and external professionals.
  • \n
  • Managing staffing, budgets and overall operational performance.
  • \n
  • Driving continuous improvement with the aim of achieving an Outstanding Ofsted rating.
  • \n
\n
\nAbout You\n
\nTo be successful, you'll need:\n
\n
    \n
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, or be working towards it.
  • \n
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a senior or management position within a children's residential home.
  • \n
  • Excellent knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • \n
  • Experience of Ofsted inspections, ideally achieving Good or Outstanding outcomes.
  • \n
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge with experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • \n
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • \n
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • \n
Experience of opening a new children's home or supporting children with both EBD and Learning Disabilities would be advantageous but is not essential.\n
