\n The Opportunity:\n
We are looking for aLaser Cutter Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day running of our laser cutting department. This is a genuine working supervisor role where you'll lead by example, supporting production on the shop floor while driving quality, productivity and continuous improvement.

- Supervising the daily operation of the laser cutting department \n
- Leading, motivating and supporting the laser cutting team \n
- Planning and allocating workloads to meet production schedules \n
- Operating and setting laser cutting machinery when required \n
- Carrying out first-off inspections and ensuring products meet customer specifications \n
- Monitoring quality throughout production and resolving issues promptly \n
- Identifying opportunities to reduce downtime and improve efficiency \n
- Working closely with Programming, Production Planning, Quality and Operations teams \n
- Coaching, mentoring and developing members of the team \n
- Managing day-to-day people matters, including probation reviews and return-to-work meetings \n
- Supporting recruitment and induction of new team members \n
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards \n
- Promoting a strong health and safety culture across the department \n
- Reporting machinery issues and working with maintenance to minimise disruption \n
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and performance \n
What We're Looking For:\n

- \n
- Previous experience team leading or supervising a laser cutting department or manufacturing team \n
- Extensive experience operating laser cutting machinery \n
- A strong understanding of engineering drawings and sheet metal fabrication \n
- Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills \n
- The ability to prioritise workloads and meet production deadlines \n
- Strong communication and people management skills \n
- A quality-focused approach with excellent attention to detail \n
- \n
- Experience with Bystronic, Trumpf, Amada or similar laser cutting equipment \n
- Knowledge of ERP or MRP systems \n
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience \n
- Forklift licence \n
- First Aid qualification \n
