\n Our client is seeking a motivated and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of construction projects, ensuring effective cost control, accurate valuations, and strong supplier and subcontractor relationships throughout the project life-cycle.\n
\nKey Responsibilities\n
\n
- \n
- Review construction drawings and specifications to identify labour, materials, plant and specialist subcontractor requirements. \n
- Prepare tender enquiries and obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. \n
- Negotiate costs, rates and terms with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered within budget. \n
- Prepare subcontractor valuations and manage accounts through to final account settlement. \n
- Produce and submit monthly valuations, including the assessment and recording of variations and additional works. \n
- Liaise directly with clients, consultants and project stakeholders to agree rates, variations and cost analyses. \n
- Measure completed works in accordance with contract schedules of rates. \n
- Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts within agreed timescales. \n
- Work closely with project management and finance teams to ensure robust commercial control and maximise project profitability. \n
- Produce accurate monthly cost reports and contribute to management and client progress meetings. \n
- Attend site visits and project progress meetings as required. \n
\nCandidate Requirements\n
\n
- \n
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline is preferred. \n
- Candidates with an HND/HNC qualification and relevant industry experience will also be considered. \n
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying or Estimating role within a main contracting environment. \n
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities and manage project costs effectively. \n
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the confidence to engage with clients, subcontractors and suppliers. \n
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently whilst contributing positively within a team environment. \n
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. \n
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook and Project. \n
