Mechanical Fitter

Location:Biggleswade, Bedfordshire

Hours:Monday to Thursday: 7:45am 4:30pm and Friday: 7:45am 12:45pm

RATE IR35 Exempt - £20-25ph LTD

We're looking for an experiencedMechanical Fitter or Electrical Fitterto join a skilled Production team responsible for assembling high-quality components and specialist sub-assemblies for customers across a wide range of industries worldwide. This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical assembly skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work to demanding build schedules.

• Read, interpret, and work accurately from assembly and pneumatic drawings
\n
• Support the mechanical and pneumatic assembly of machinery and spare parts to a high standard
\n
• Run field wiring in preparation for electrical fitters
\n
• Conduct routine inspections on returned machinery to assess functionality and condition
\n
• Identify mechanical faults and report findings to the Shopfloor Foreman
\n
• Carry out testing on equipment following repairs and maintenance activities
\n
• Work to production deadlines and build schedules
\n
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality at all times
\n

\n
• Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter is essential
\n
• Proven experience building bespoke or special-purpose machinery
\n
• Ability to read and interpret assembly and pneumatic drawings
\n
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
\n
• Electrical fitting, machine wiring, and pneumatic experience would be advantageous
\n
• A quality-focused approach with strong customer awareness
\n
• Good written and verbal communication skills
\n
• Ability to work effectively to deadlines and customer requirements
\n
• Strong teamwork skills and a collaborative approach
\n
• Health & Safety conscious with good IT skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
\n
