Job Description

The Senior Electrical Engineer will provide technical support to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the Morecambe Hub's electrical systems in Barrow-in-Furness. The role reports to the Hub Engineering Manager and has a strong focus on operational support, maintenance, reliability and asset integrity.
\n The engineer will work closely with maintenance and operations teams to develop and optimise preventive and predictive maintenance strategies. They will troubleshoot electrical equipment problems, carry out root-cause analysis, recommend corrective actions and support inspection, testing and condition-monitoring programmes.
\n The position will also provide electrical engineering input into capital projects and plant modifications, including specifications, design reviews, commissioning and start-up activities. Responsibilities include reviewing electrical work scopes, job packs and method statements, as well as overseeing contractors and vendors to ensure work meets technical, safety, quality and contractual requirements.
\n The role will contribute to safety studies and risk assessments, including HAZOP, HAZID and LOPA, while supporting management-of-change processes and assessing the impact of operational or design changes. The engineer will also maintain technical documentation such as drawings, calculations, datasheets and operating or maintenance procedures, and may act as a lead investigator using Kelvin TopSet techniques.
\n The ideal candidate will have proven experience within onshore or offshore oil and gas operations, with strong knowledge of electrical equipment used in production facilities, including power generation and distribution systems. Experience in maintenance strategy, reliability engineering, asset integrity, offshore safety cases, permit-to-work systems and relevant industry standards such as API, ASME, ISO and DNV is expected.
\n Applicants should hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline, ideally at MEng level. Chartered Engineer status is preferred but not essential.
