\nWe are hiring a Business Development Manager to drive new customer acquisition across the UK and Ireland and potentially EU. This role targets mid-market and enterprise produce companies and leads a consultative sales processpositioning Prophet as the long-term system of record for complex fresh and perishable supply chains.
\nThis is not a transactional SaaS role. Success requires the ability to:
\nNavigate complex, multi-stakeholder ERP buying cycles
\nUncover operational and financial pain points in produce and perishable businesses
\nTranslate real-world workflows into clear ERP value and outcomes
\nBuild credibility with executives across operations, finance, and IT
\nYou will own the full sales cyclefrom initial discovery through workshops, proposal and commercial negotiation, to contract close and handoff to implementation.
\nNew Business Development
\nIdentify and engage fresh produce companies (distributors, wholesalers, importers/exporters, processors, growers)
\nBuild pipeline through outbound prospecting, partner/referral channels, and industry events (e.g., IFPA, SEPC)
\nQualify opportunities based on operational complexity, readiness, budget, and overall fit
\nConnect Prophet capabilities to measurable business outcomes (not features)
\nRun a structured sales process including demos, technical validation, and stakeholder alignment
\nSet and manage expectations on scope, timeline, and investment
\nEnsure a clean handoff to implementation with clear requirements and success criteria
\nRequired Qualifications
\nProven track record of closing complex, multi-year deals (100K - 500K+)
\nStrong understanding of:
\no Inventory management and warehouse operations
\no Accounting fundamentals (GL, AP/AR, costing)
\no Food processing and packhouse workflows
\nExperience selling to mid-market and enterprise organisations
\nWhat Success Looks Like
\nConsistent pipeline generation within the first 90 days
\nFirst closed deal ideally within 4- 6 months
\nAbility to independently run full-cycle ERP sales across multiple stakeholders
\nCredibility with prospects, customers, and internal implementation teams
\nCompensation
\nBase salary plus commission (OTE competitive with the ERP market)
