Pertemps are currently recruiting for a School Cook based in Edinburgh to support a busy primary or high school kitchen.\n
?? Role: School Cook\n
\n?? Location: Edinburgh (Various Locations)\n
\n?? Hours: Monday to Thursday (hours differ depend on location, but typically 24 hours per week)\n
\n?? Pay Rate: £13.95 per hour\n
\n?? Duration: Temporary Ongoing (Term Time Only)\n
\n?? Start date: Immediate (after PVG certification received)\n
This role requires a PVG Certificate (£59 for a new application or £18 to update an existing certificate).\n
Key Responsibilities\n
\n

\n
• Prepare and cook nutritious school meals
\n
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety
\n
• Complete food safety records and kitchen compliance checks
\n
• Receive and store deliveries, manage stock rotation, and assist with ordering
\n
• Serve meals and support school events when required
\n
• Carry out general kitchen duties, including cleaning and manual handling
\n

We're looking for someone who:\n
\n

\n
• Has previous cooking experience, ideally within a school or similar catering environment
\n
• Holds a relevant catering qualification or has equivalent experience
\n
• Has a good understanding of food hygiene, allergens, and health & safety
\n
• Can work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
\n
