Our client is an established mechanical building services contractor delivering pipework projects across the South West and surrounding regions.

The business has developed a strong reputation for delivering technically demanding work while maintaining a practical, straightforward approach to its clients and employees.

With a healthy pipeline and continued growth planned, the company is now looking to strengthen its project delivery team with an experienced Mechanical Project Manager.

This is a business where individuals are trusted to take ownership. You will work closely with senior management and have the opportunity to influence how projects are planned, resourced and delivered.

The Mechanical Project Manager will take responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical building services pipework projects.

You will manage projects from the initial handover and planning stages through to installation, commissioning and completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking full ownership of mechanical pipework projects
\n
• Reviewing specifications, drawings and contractual requirements
\n
• Producing project programmes and delivery plans
\n
• Coordinating labour, materials, plant and subcontractors
\n
• Managing project budgets, forecasts and variations
\n
• Monitoring progress against programme and cost
\n
• Leading client and project meetings
\n
• Working closely with engineers, supervisors and site teams
\n
• Identifying technical or commercial risks at an early stage
\n
• Ensuring installations meet the required quality standards
\n
• Maintaining strong health and safety performance
\n
• Managing commissioning, completion and handover
\n
• Developing positive relationships with clients and the wider supply chain
\n

Projects will involve a range of mechanical pipework systems within building services environments. A strong practical understanding of mechanical installations, plant areas and site delivery will therefore be essential.

This is not a role where you will be several steps removed from the actual delivery of your projects.

You will have genuine responsibility for planning the work, leading the team and making the decisions required to deliver successfully.

You will also have direct access to the companys senior leadership rather than working through multiple layers of management.

You will need proven experience delivering mechanical building services or pipework projects.

You should be able to demonstrate:

• Experience managing projects from planning through to handover
\n
• The ability to manage programmes, budgets and resources
\n
• Good commercial awareness
\n
• Experience coordinating site teams and subcontractors
\n
• Confidence dealing directly with clients
\n
• The ability to understand drawings and technical information
\n
• A practical and solution-focused approach
\n
• Strong communication and leadership skills
\n
• A good understanding of construction health and safety
\n

A relevant mechanical or building services qualification would be beneficial, although strong practical experience will be equally important.
