We are seeking a practical and motivated Farm Engineer to join a busy engineering and maintenance team supporting a modern agricultural operation.
\nThis is a hands-on role offering a varied workload across the maintenance, repair, development and improvement of agricultural machinery and equipment. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently, helping to minimise downtime and support day-to-day operations.
\nThis position would suit someone with a strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys problem-solving and working both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of agricultural machinery and equipment. \n
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately and in a timely manner. \n
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines. \n
- Inspect, remove and replace machinery components as required. \n
- Assist with the design, development and improvement of new and existing machinery. \n
- Manufacture and machine components within a workshop environment. \n
- Test and evaluate mechanical, pneumatic and low-voltage electrical systems. \n
- Record and report findings from inspections, testing and repairs. \n
- Prioritise workloads effectively to ensure operational requirements are met. \n
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the workshop and working areas. \n
- Support operational teams with on-site maintenance and breakdown response where required. \n
- Work in accordance with all health and safety, hygiene and company procedures. \n
The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous experience in an engineering, agricultural engineering, mechanical maintenance or similar role. \n
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair faults. \n
- Experience working with agricultural, plant, industrial or production equipment. \n
- The ability to read and follow technical information and manufacturer guidelines. \n
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail. \n
- A proactive and safety-conscious approach to work. \n
- Excellent problem-solving skills. \n
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team. \n
- \n
- Agricultural engineering experience. \n
- Basic electrical and pneumatic fault-finding knowledge. \n
- Welding, fabrication or machining experience. \n
- Relevant engineering qualifications or apprenticeship training. \n
- \n
- A flexible and reliable approach to work. \n
- Willingness to work both within a workshop environment and outdoors when required. \n
- Commitment to maintaining excellent health and safety standards. \n
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. \n
