Senior Inspector

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Inspector to join our team in the East Midlands. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and carrying out inspections across a range of highway structure assets, ensuring they are completed in line with agreed inspection schedules, procedures and industry standards. You will identify defects, raise the appropriate maintenance works, and support the prioritisation and development of maintenance schemes. Working closely with the Inspection Manager, you will help plan, deliver and report on both cyclical and ad hoc inspection programmes, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in line with procedures, guidance and industry best practice.

About the Role.

  • Complete cyclical and ad-hoc inspections of highway assets, including complex structures
  • \n
  • Liaising with key stakeholders such as Local Authorities, Network Rail, Canal & River Trust and landowners to facilitate bridge inspections.
  • \n
  • Producing specifications and agree frequency of monitoring, investigation, testing and other special inspections of structures.
  • \n
  • Identify defects, defect causes and options for remedial actions, in line with agreed timescales, procedures and standards.
  • \n
  • Oversee and gather data from monitoring and special inspections and testing.
  • \n
  • Produce and check RAMS
  • \n

You will be required to drive as part of your role and you will need to have a full clean driving license to be considered for this position and during employment.

About you.

  • Minimum of 5 years of carrying out structure's inspections
  • \n
  • Qualified/ working towards Senior Inspector on the Bridge Inspector Certification Scheme (NHSS31)/ The National Highways bridge inspector competence qualification or able to demonstrable evidence of the core competencies required
  • \n
  • Proficient in planning and undertaking cyclical Inspections
  • \n
  • Capable of recognising and categorising defects and maintenance needs of all types of highways assets
  • \n
  • Experience in data collection and use of data capture devices
  • \n
  • Have planned and carried out monitoring inspection using NDT
  • \n
