The Opportunity

\n

CNC Recruitment are working with a well-established precision engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced CMM Inspector / Quality Inspector. This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern manufacturing business producing high-precision machined components for the aerospace sector.

\n

We are looking for a quality-focused individual with a strong CNC manufacturing background who is confident using CMM equipment and a wide range of inspection tools to ensure components meet exact customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

    \n
  • Programme and operate CMM equipment, including Axiom, Azimuth, Extol and Baty systems.
  • \n
  • Carry out first-off, in-process, final and audit inspections on precision-machined components.
  • \n
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and customer specifications.
  • \n
  • Produce inspection reports and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR/AS9102).
  • \n
  • Identify non-conformances and support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • \n
  • Work closely with CNC machining, production and engineering teams to maintain quality standards.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001 and customer quality requirements.
  • \n
  • Maintain calibration records and ensure inspection equipment remains fully compliant.
  • \n
  • Support internal and external quality audits.
  • \n
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities across the manufacturing process.
  • \n

What We're Looking For

    \n
  • Previous experience within a CNC machining or precision engineering environment.
  • \n
  • Proven CMM programming and operating experience (essential).
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of precision machining processes and manufactured components.
  • \n
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • \n
  • Experience using manual inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges and bore gauges.
  • \n
  • Good IT skills and experience producing quality documentation.
  • \n
  • Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach.
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • \n
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • \n
