Location: Doncaster, DN7
Pay Rate: £16.25 per hour
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday (Tramping Required)

The Role\n

CDS Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Car Transporter Driver to join our client based in Doncaster (DN7). This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity for a professional driver with previous car transporter experience using Rolfo, Belle or TE trailers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting up to 7 vehicles while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.

Essential Requirements\n
    \n
  • Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) HGV Licence.
  • \n
  • Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
  • \n
  • Previous experience operating Rolfo, Belle or TE car transporter trailers.
  • \n
  • Experience transporting up to 7 vehicles.
  • \n
  • Willingness to tramp Monday to Thursday.
  • \n
  • Excellent understanding of DVSA regulations and Drivers' Hours legislation.
  • \n
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to vehicle safety.
  • \n
Duties & Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Load and unload vehicles safely using ramps and securing equipment.
  • \n
  • Inspect vehicles before collection and after delivery, recording any existing damage.
  • \n
  • Secure vehicles correctly to prevent movement during transit.
  • \n
  • Plan routes to ensure efficient and on-time deliveries.
  • \n
  • Complete delivery notes, inspection reports, and transport documentation accurately.
  • \n
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with DVSA regulations, tachograph rules, and Drivers' Hours legislation.
  • \n
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and roadworthy vehicle.
  • \n
  • Communicate professionally with customers, dealerships, manufacturers, and the transport office.
  • \n
  • Deliver excellent customer service and obtain proof of delivery where required.
  • \n
  • Follow all company Health & Safety procedures.
  • \n
  • Report accidents, incidents, delays, or vehicle damage immediately.
  • \n
  • Drive efficiently while managing fuel consumption responsibly.
  • \n
