Senior Registered Building Inspector (Minimum Class 2F)\n

Location: South East London
Contract:3 months initially but 12 months expected
Rate: £70-£75 per hour

I'm working with a busy Local Authority in South East London that is looking to bring an experienced Senior Registered Building Inspector (Class 2F but will consider experienced 2D RBI's) into their Building Control team on a rolling contract.

\n

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established team with a varied workload, giving you the chance to work across a range of residential, commercial and more complex developments while playing a key role in delivering a high-quality Building Control service.

The Role\n

You'll be responsible for managing your own caseload while supporting the wider team to ensure Building Regulations are applied consistently and effectively.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out site inspections across a variety of construction projects.
  • \n
  • Checking plans and assessing Building Regulations applications.
  • \n
  • Providing technical advice to developers, architects, contractors and members of the public.
  • \n
  • Managing more complex Building Control projects and supporting junior team members where required.
  • \n
  • Undertaking enforcement and dangerous structures work when necessary.
  • \n
  • Producing clear, accurate inspection reports and maintaining thorough records.
  • \n
  • Working closely with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure projects progress smoothly and remain compliant with current legislation.

To be considered, you'll have:

\n
    \n
  • Building Safety Regulator registration at Class 2F(applications from experienced Class 2D Registered Building Inspectors will also be considered).
  • \n
  • Previous experience working within Local Authority Building Control (Desirable)
  • \n
  • A strong understanding of the Building Regulations, the Building Safety Act and associated legislation.
  • \n
  • The confidence to manage complex projects and make sound technical decisions.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Membership of CABE, RICS, CIOB or another relevant professional body would be advantageous.
