Job Description
A major Commercial Vehicle manufacturer is looking for a number of Mechanics - Technicians for their extremely busy commercial vehicle workshop.Must possess a mechanical or technician background in any of the following: Commercial vehicles, plant, vans, cars, agricultural, construction, armed forces or any other kind of vehicles and either have experience of IRTEC, BTEC or City & Guilds qualifications or similar. Full training provided.\n

As an HGV Technician you are responsible for the maintenance, service, and repair of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). You ensure that all vehicles are maintained to a high safety and performance standard, identifying and repairing any mechanical or electrical issues. If you do not possess HGV Technician/Mechanic experience you will be trained and taught

- Perform detailed vehicle inspections to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment. \n
- Assess issues related to engines, transmissions, brake systems, and other critical components of HGVs. \n
- Conduct repairs on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension. \n
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire checks and replacements, and fluid top-ups. \n
- Implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and enhance vehicle reliability. \n
- Monitor and record vehicle performance to anticipate potential problems and schedule timely interventions. \n
- Communicate effectively with the Workshop Controller and the services team to explain repairs and maintenance needs. \n
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in HGV technology and repair techniques. \n
