Skilled Roadworker required in Kings Lynn
\nNorse Highways, Kings Lynn Depot, Norfolk - PE34 3AQ
\n£30,283.50 - £32,495.44per year (based on experience)
\n39 Hours per week
\nMonday to Friday
\nNorse Highways are looking to recruit Roadworkers to their experienced team, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has worked within the Highways industry before.
\nThe successful candidate will be working in an everchanging role and will assist with resolving emergency situations. As a Roadworker you will also be responsible for maintaining and constructing roads, footpaths, sewers, drainage & signs. This position is vital for the upkeep and development of public infrastructure.
\nThis position is being offered on a Full time, Permanent contract working 39 hours per week at our depot in Kings Lynn.
\nYou will be required to work some evenings and weekends as part of the contractual arrangements, this will include enhanced pay rates further information will be provided at interview stage.
\nMain Responsibilities:
\nSafe keeping and operation of significant plant including vehicles up to LGV (C+E), heavy rollers, loading shovels, etc. including responsibility for their daily maintenance.
\nCompletion of accurate written and electronic work records and other documents.
\nSetting out and laying kerbing, drainage, concrete work, flag and black paving, bricklaying, drains, installing gullies, manholes and catchment pits.
\nErection and removal of signs and barriers, work on highways furniture, fencing and road markings and the general highways environment.
\nPlacing, spreading, levelling and compaction of stone, coated materials, concrete, etc. to accurate levels.
\nExcavation of soil, rock, asphalt, concrete using hand and powered tools.
\nCut back hedges that are overhanging the highway and grass cutting.
\nHand sweeping, loading, unloading and general handling of materials and equipment.
\nResponsible for guiding and instructing roadworkers and Apprentices when required.
\nTo take the lead on site in the absence of a Ganger.
\nJob Requirements:
\nFull Driving Licence to meet the travel requirements of the role
\nIdeally hold a Class 1 HGV Licence
\nExperience as a roadworker / apprentice or ground worker
\nExperience of working as part of a team
