HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver – Swindon

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver to join our well-established client based in Swindon.

This role would suit candidates with experience as a Class 2 HIAB Driver, HGV Class 2 Driver, LGV Class 2 Driver, HIAB Driver, Category C Driver, Multi-Drop Driver, Building Materials Driver, or Lorry Loader Driver.

To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of 24 months' continuous Category C driving experience.

Shifts

 • Working 5 days out of 7 (rota provided)
\n  • Start times available from 07:00, 08:00, and 11:00
\n  • Ongoing full-time work
\n  • Flexible shift patterns available

Rates of Pay – PAYE

 • Basic Rate – £17.18 per hour
\n  • Overtime after 8 hours – £25.77 per hour
\n  • Saturday – £25.77 per hour
\n  • Sunday – £34.36 per hour
\n  • Bank Holiday – £34.36 per hour
\n  • Weekly Pay

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver, your duties will include:

 • Delivering building materials and home improvement products to customer locations
\n  • Operating Category C vehicles safely and efficiently
\n  • Operating a HIAB/lorry-mounted crane safely and effectively
\n  • Carrying out vehicle checks before and after each shift
\n  • Ensuring all loads are secured correctly before transport
\n  • Adhering to all traffic laws and transport regulations
\n  • Using PDA systems to manage deliveries and paperwork
\n  • Communicating effectively with transport teams and customers
\n  • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
\n  • Assisting with loading and unloading where required
\n  • Providing excellent customer service at delivery locations

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver, you will need:

 • A valid UK Category C Driving Licence
\n  • A valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
\n  • A valid HIAB (ALLMI) Qualification Card
\n  • A minimum of 24 months' continuous Class 2 driving experience
\n  • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
\n  • No major endorsement codes
\n  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
\n  • Good spoken and written English
\n  • Good timekeeping and punctuality
\n  • A strong understanding of traffic laws and regulations
\n  • Confidence using PDA systems

Desirable Experience

 • Previous commercial driving experience would be beneficial
\n  • Previous multi-drop delivery experience would be advantageous
\n  • Previous experience delivering building materials would be desirable

Training Provided

 • Six-hour online training must be completed prior to assessment
\n  • Driver assessment required before starting
\n  • On-the-job training provided following successful assessment
\n  • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
