Location: Corby, Northamptonshire\n
Sector: Manufacturing / Joinery\n
Salary: £32,000 per annum\n
Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:00-16:00, Friday 07:00-13:00\n
Overview\n
\nAn established joinery manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor / Workshop Foreman to support the day-to-day running of its busy factory is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong background in timber manufacturing, joinery production, woodworking, or CNC wood machining who enjoys being on the shop floor, supporting colleagues, and helping production run smoothly.\n
\nWorking closely with senior management, you will act as a key point of contact for the production team, ensuring works orders progress through the factory efficiently, quality standards aremaintained, and any issues are resolved quickly.\n
Key Responsibilities\n
\nSupport the smooth day-to-day operation of the factory floor\n
\nMonitor production activities and help ensure workloads are completed to schedule\n
\nAssistin coordinating workflow through machining, assembly,finishingand dispatch departments\n
\nAct as a first point of contact for shop floor employees, offering guidance and support whererequired\n
\nEnsure works orders are progressing through the factory efficiently\n
\nLiaise with managementregardingproduction priorities and potential delays\n
\nHelpidentifyand resolve production issues to minimise downtime andmaintainproductivity\n
\nRead and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing specifications\n
\nMonitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process\n
\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste\n
\nEnsure machinery, equipment and work areas aremaintainedin a safe and organised condition\n
\nAssistwith training and mentoring less experienced team members\n
\nAccurately update production records and job tracking systems\n
\nProvide practical support across the factory asrequired\n
\nWork alongside the Factory Manager to plan,manageand oversee all production activity across all departments\n
\nDevelop, issue, andmaintaindetailed daily and weekly production schedules based on project requirements, customer orders, and available capacity.\n
\nMonitor production progress against schedule and adjust plans proactively to address bottlenecks, delays, or changes in priorities.\n
Skills & Experience\n
\nExperience within a timber manufacturing, joinery,woodworkingor related production environmentessential\n
\nStrong understanding of wood machining processes and factory workflowessential\n
\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings\n
\nPreviousexperience as a Production Supervisor, Workshop Foreman, Team Leader, SeniorMachinistor similar role will consider candidates who are ready to step up in your career\n
\nPractical, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills\n
\nGood organisational skills and attention to detail\n
\nAbility to communicate effectively with colleagues across different departments\n
\nExperienceoperatingor working alongside CNC woodworking machinery would beadvantageous\n
\nPositive attitude and willingness to support the wider team\n
