Data and Implementation Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £34,000-£37,000
\nLocation: Hull/Hybrid 3 days a week in the office
\nRole Overview
\nAs an Implementation Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of data and delivery. The majority of your role is hands-on data work, including extracting, cleansing, mapping, and migrating customer data into our platforms. This is complemented by configuring solutions, running training sessions, and guiding customers to a confident, well-supported go-live.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nData Manipulation & Migration ( 60%)
\n- \n
- Extract, cleanse, transform, and validate customer data from legacy systems, spreadsheets, and third-party exports ready for migration. \n
- Write and maintain SQL scripts and ETL routines to map source data fields to Asolvi's platform schemas. \n
- Perform data quality checks, deduplication, and reconciliation to ensure migrated records match source counts and business rules. \n
- Build and refine reusable data migration templates and scripts to speed up future onboarding projects. \n
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies raised during UAT, working directly in the database and back end to correct records. \n
- Document data mapping decisions, transformation logic, and known exceptions for audit and handover. \n
Implementation & Training ( 40%)

- Configure platform settings, workflows, and integrations to match each customers agreed solution design. \n
- Deliver end-user and administrator training sessions (remote and on-site), tailored to each customers processes. \n
- Support go-live and hypercare, troubleshooting issues and ensuring a smooth handover to Support. \n
- Produce clear configuration and training documentation, and contribute to internal implementation playbooks. \n
Skills & Qualifications
\nData Manipulation
\n- \n
- Strong SQL skills, comfortable writing and troubleshooting queries against relational databases. \n
- Practical experience with data cleansing, transformation, deduplication, and validation techniques. \n
- Confidence with Excel (formulas, lookups, pivot tables) for large-scale data preparation and reconciliation. \n
- Exposure to ETL tools or scripting (e.g. Python, PowerShell) for repeatable data manipulation is an advantage. \n
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to spot inconsistencies and anomalies in large datasets. \n
- Methodical, detail-oriented approach to handling large volumes of sensitive customer data. \n
Implementation & Training

- Ability to translate customer requirements into system configuration. \n
- Confident, engaging trainer able to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. \n
- Organised, able to manage multiple implementation projects and timelines concurrently. \n
- Clear written communicator, comfortable producing configuration and training documentation. \n
What Youll Need (Essential)
\nCommercial experience in data migration, implementation, or software/business consulting role, ideally within B2B software or SaaS. Hands-on SQL and relational database experience is essential; experience delivering customer training or software implementations is a strong plus.
