\nAbout the Role
\nWe are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Bridge Inspector to join our Operational team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional looking to further develop their structural inspection knowledge, programme management capabilities, and leadership experience within a dynamic environment.
\nReporting to the Inspections Manager, you will be responsible for undertaking Principal and General Inspections in accordance with CS450 standards. The role combines both office and site-based responsibilities, including planning inspections, carrying out surveys, producing detailed reports, and supporting junior team members.
\nThe successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring inspections are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Undertake General and Principal Inspections on a range of structures \n
- Carry out desktop studies and site surveys on structures \n
- Prepare and review RAMS documentation for inspections \n
- Promote and maintain safe working practices in line with company Health & Safety policies \n
- Organise plant, equipment, and inspection materials \n
- Produce inspection reports using systems such as Bridgestation, BCI forms, and traditional handwritten methods \n
- Monitor inspection progress against programme and cost targets \n
- Support KPI, QA, and reporting compliance to maintain high client satisfaction \n
- Lead inspection teams and deliver site briefings \n
- Supervise and mentor junior inspectors where appropriate \n
- Assist with weak bridge monitoring activities \n
- Attend and support network incidents and emergency response activities when required \n

Essential Skills & Experience
\n- \n
- Minimum 5 years' experience scheduling, planning, and undertaking structures inspections \n
- Experience preparing detailed inspection reports \n
- Strong understanding of: Principal defects, concrete defects, steel defects, masonry defects, miscellaneus material defects \n
- Experience producing defect sketches and diagrams \n
- Full clean UK Driving Licence \n
- First Aid qualification \n
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook \n
Desirable Qualifications & Certifications
\n- \n
- Confined Space Certificate \n
- Personal Track Safety (PTS) Certificate \n
- Civil Engineering qualification (ONC minimum, HNC/HND preferred) \n
