Job Description

Our client is a leading main contractor delivering projects across the Midlands and North. The business is committed to maintaining the highest standards of Health, Safety & Wellbeing through a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement. The Role The Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor will support the delivery and implementation of the company's Health, Safety & Wellbeing Management System across multiple construction projects. They will work closely with site teams, subcontractors and clients to promote best practice, ensure legal compliance and drive a positive safety culture. Responsibilities Promote compliance with company Health, Safety & Wellbeing procedures across all projects. Carry out site inspections, audits and monitoring activities. Support project teams with risk assessments, method statements and statutory compliance. Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, producing reports and recommendations. Provide practical Health & Safety advice to site teams and subcontractors. Attend project and client meetings to support Health & Safety performance. Monitor PPE compliance and safe working practices. Promote continuous improvement through lessons learned and best practice sharing. Keep up to date with current Health & Safety legislation and industry standards. Support the development and improvement of company management systems.Education, skills and experience NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate. NVQ Level 4-6 in Occupational Health & Safety (desirable). CertIOSH or CMIOSH membership (desirable). Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Health & Safety role with a recognised main contractor. Strong knowledge of current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence and build positive working relationships at all levels. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems
