\nWe are looking for Assistant Financial Accountant who would like to help us reach our mission to earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service.
\nThis is a fixed term contract for up to 15 months.
Purpose of this roleTo undertake accounting month-end processes including journal posting, balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of the group consolidation file.\nAdditionally role assists in the preparation of monthly management accounts, preparing annual financial statements under FRS 102 and tax compliance
Your key responsibilities are\nAccounting & Monthly Financial Reporting Processes:
\nSupport the Groups month-end processes, posting month end journals; consolidation adjustments, prepayments, accruals and fixed asset journals as well as other ad-hoc journals as required.
\nReconciliation of intercompany balances across the group and resolution of differences.
\nPreparation of the monthly consolidation file and summary financial information.
\nPreparation of monthly management accounts and board packs.
\nPreparation of company balance sheet reconciliations.
\nMaintain fixed asset registers.
\nAccounting & Tax Compliance:
\nAssist with the preparation of annual financial statements under FRS102 to meet the Groups statutory reporting requirements.
\nSupport the external audit process, dealing with queries in a timely manner as required for relevant areas.
\nEnsure all processes undertaken are adequately documented and adhered to in compliance with the Groups Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) control environment.
\nAssist with the preparation of annual Corporation Tax returns for submission to HMRC.
\nPreparation of P11Ds and PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) tax calculations relating to employee benefits for submission annually to HMRC.
\nAny other duties as required by the manager.
Qualifications\nAAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA or equivalent.
Experience/Knowledge\nCan demonstrate an understanding of financial accounting either through previous work experience or study.
Abilities/Skills\nOrganised and capable of managing own workload to key deadlines.
\nHighly numerate and able to work with accuracy.
\nWorks collaboratively and builds strong relationships with others both internally and externally.
\nCustomer Focus delivers a consistently high quality service to external and internal stakeholders.
\nCommunication Focus demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a range of people.
Desirable\nExperience of preparation of monthly accounts for a group of companies.
\nStrong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
