\nThe Opportunity
\nTSR Legal is delighted to be working with a leading law firm seeking to appoint an experienced and commercially focused Finance Business Partner.
\nThis is a high-profile role offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and legal teams, helping to drive financial performance, improve decision-making, and support the firm's continued growth. The successful candidate will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, commercial analysis, and audit management, while acting as a trusted adviser across the business.
\nThe position would suit a qualified accountant who enjoys combining technical financial expertise with strategic commercial input and stakeholder engagement.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process across the firm \n
- Partner with legal teams and department heads to provide meaningful financial insight and performance analysis \n
- Analyse key financial and operational metrics, including utilisation, recovery rates, WIP, billing performance, and profitability \n
- Produce and present clear, actionable management information to senior stakeholders \n
- Identify opportunities to improve financial performance, efficiency, and profitability \n
- Support pricing decisions and incentive scheme calculations \n
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts \n
- Lead the annual statutory audit process and act as the primary contact for external auditors \n
- Ensure robust financial controls, compliance, and audit readiness \n
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting, and business partnering activities \n
- Foster strong relationships between the finance function and operational teams \n
The successful candidate will be a confident and credible finance professional with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and contribute to commercial decision-making.
\nEssential Requirements
\n- \n
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) \n
- Minimum 23 years' post-qualification experience \n
- Previous experience within a professional services environment \n
- Strong understanding of WIP, billing processes, and revenue recognition \n
- Demonstrable experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning \n
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to translate financial data into practical business insight \n
- Experience working closely with senior stakeholders and leadership teams \n
- Knowledge of financial controls, compliance, and audit processes \n
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills \n
- Experience leading or managing external audit processes \n
- Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements \n
