Job Description
Childrens Residential Support Worker
\nWe are currently recruiting for a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join a therapeutic young peoples home supporting vulnerable children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Building positive relationships and engaging with young people daily \n
- Supporting children from traumatic backgrounds with patience and consistency \n
- Learning young peoples routines, interests, likes, and dislikes through care plans \n
- Supporting educational goals and personal development \n
- Helping with day-to-day living tasks \n
- Guiding and supporting behaviour management \n
- Ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and emotional stability of young people \n
- Working closely with social workers, therapists, and the wider care team \n
Shift Pattern
\n- \n
- 9am 11pm + sleep-in \n
- 7am 9:30am the following day \n
- Staff work 7 x 24-hour shifts (including sleep-ins) across a 3-week rota \n
Requirements
\n- \n
- Must be aged 21+ \n
- Full UK driving licence required \n
- Minimum 6 months experience within:\n
- \n
- Residential childcare \n
- Schools \n
- Youth work \n
- Supported accommodation \n
\n - Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one \n
Training & Progression
\nCandidates moving into permanent positions will receive:
\n- \n
- Level 4 Residential Childcare qualification\n
- \n
- Level 3 offered where UK residency requirements apply \n
\n - PRICE restraint training \n
- Developmental Trauma training \n
- Therapeutic Parenting training \n
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a Teams meeting with the Registered Manager of the home as part of the recruitment process.
