SEND Teaching Assistant

About the role:\n
\nHorizon Teachers are looking for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups across KS2KS3. You'll help children with ASC and Complex needs thrive in the classroom and beyond.\n

Key responsibilities\n
\n

\n
• Provide general classroom support across KS2 and KS3, assisting with pupil engagement to enhance learning outcomes.
\n
• Provide focused 1:1 and small group support to deliver targeted intervention.
\n
• Support the class teacher in planning, preparation, and delivering engaging lessons.
\n
• Support pupils with SEND and additional needs.
\n
• Assist in creating a positive, inclusive, and safe environment.
\n

What do you need to succeed in this role?\n
\n

\n
• Previous experience in a school or SEN setting (essential).
\n
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
\n
• A solid understanding of SEND conditions and how they affect learning and behaviour.
\n
• Confidence in supporting pupils with communication difficulties and/or physical needs.
\n
• A collaborative and empathetic approach, with excellent communication skills.
\n
