The Role\n

The company is looking for an experienced Gates & Barriers Service Engineer to join its growing team based in Bredbury, Stockport.

This is a field-based role involving the servicing, maintenance, fault finding, and repair of automated gates, barriers, bollards, and access control systems. The successful candidate will be a hands-on engineer who can work independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Service, maintain and repair automated gates, barriers, bollards, and access control systems.
  • \n
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical, mechanical, and automation faults.
  • \n
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
  • \n
  • Respond to breakdown call-outs and complete repairs efficiently in normal working hours.
  • \n
  • Replace motors, control panels, safety devices, photocells, intercoms, and associated components.
  • \n
  • Complete service reports and job documentation accurately.
  • \n
  • Ensure all work complies with current health and safety legislation and industry standards.
  • \n
  • Provide excellent customer service while representing the company professionally.
  • \n
  • Maintain to a good standard tools, equipment and vehicle.
  • \n
Candidate Requirements\n
    \n
  • Previous experience servicing and repairing automated gates, barriers, or access control systems is essential.
  • \n
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
  • \n
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
  • \n
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • \n
  • Candidates with their own hand tools are preferred.
  • \n
  • Willingness to work overtime if and when required.
