Beam Saw Operator / Wood Machinist
\n Pay Rate: £14.50 £17.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Quest Employment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing business specialising in bespoke panel processing and precision wood machining.
\nWe are seeking an experienced Beam Saw Operator / Wood Machinist to join a skilled and friendly production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on experience working with sheet materials who takes pride in accuracy, quality, and working independently.
\nThe Role
\n As a Beam Saw Operator / Wood Machinist, you will be responsible for operating a Homag beam saw, managing your own workload, and ensuring materials are processed efficiently to meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate a Homag beam saw
\n - \n
Cut sheet materials accurately to specification
\n - \n
Work with MDF, plywood, melamine-faced boards, and similar materials
\n - \n
Read and interpret cutting lists and production schedules
\n - \n
Manage workload to meet deadlines and production targets
\n - \n
Carry out routine machine checks and basic maintenance
\n - \n
Monitor quality throughout the cutting process
\n - \n
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area
\n - \n
Minimise material waste and maximise efficiency
\n - \n
Work collaboratively with the wider production team
\n
Requirements

Previous experience operating a beam saw (ideally Homag machinery)
\n - \n
Strong background in woodworking, panel processing, or wood machining
\n - \n
Experience working with sheet materials such as MDF and melamine boards
\n - \n
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
\n - \n
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
\n - \n
Good understanding of health and safety within a workshop environment
\n - \n
Reliable with strong timekeeping
\n - \n
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
\n
