This is an Electrical Technician role with a growing renewable energy business near Ely, on a days-only four-on, four-off shift pattern.\n
\nAs an Electrical Technician you will maintain and improve the electrical systems that keep a growing renewable energy operation running safely and efficiently, working on the plants that turn organic waste into clean energy. It is a highly varied, hands-on role, from planned preventative maintenance and fault-finding through to installations, testing, inspections and breakdown response. Be clear on one thing: this is not a desk job. Up to 90% of your time will be spent outdoors across operational plant areas, often at height and in all weathers. Job Responsibilities\n

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance in line with maintenance schedules
  • \n
  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults across site systems and equipment
  • \n
  • Performing electrical repairs, installations, inspections and testing to a high standard
  • \n
  • Modifying and maintaining control panels
  • \n
  • Supporting breakdown investigations and returning equipment to service quickly and safely
  • \n
  • Working on motors, drives, instrumentation, control systems and process equipment
  • \n
  • Fault-finding on three-phase electrical systems and safety circuits
  • \n
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records using company logging systems
  • \n
  • Supporting mechanical maintenance activities where required
  • \n
  • Working outdoors and at height across operational plant areas, in all weather conditions
  • \n

Skills and Experience\n
\nTo succeed as an Electrical Technician you will need:\n
\n
    \n
  • Industrial or manufacturing electrical maintenance experience
  • \n
  • Experience of electrical breakdown repair, maintenance and installation
  • \n
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostics skills
  • \n
  • Experience of control panel modification, three-phase systems and safety circuits
  • \n
  • Experience of motor testing, inverter drives and 4-20mA instrumentation and control signals
  • \n
  • Good mechanical aptitude and confidence working around plant machinery
  • \n
  • A full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
  • \n
\n
Desirable\n
\n
    \n
  • PLC and I/O fault-finding, SCADA and industrial networks experience is desirable
  • \n
  • An HNC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and City & Guilds 2391 or 2392 is desirable
  • \n
  • A 16th, 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations qualification, which is desirable
  • \n

Pay and Benefits\n
\nAs an Electrical Technician you will receive:\n

  • A salary of up to £40,000 depending on experience
  • \n
  • A days-only, four-on, four-off, 12-hour shift pattern with overtime available
  • \n
  • 6am to 6pm
