HGV Class 1 Driver – Long Buckby, Northamptonshire

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Long Buckby, Northamptonshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing regular work, no handball, and immediate starts.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, Articulated Lorry Driver, or Truck Driver.

Shifts

 • Monday to Friday (Weekend overtime may be available)
\n  • 05:00 – 06:00 start times
\n  • Average 9–11 hour shifts
\n  • Ongoing, full-time work

Rates of Pay

 • Monday to Friday – £18.00 per hour
\n  • Saturday – £21.00 per hour
\n  • Sunday – £23.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:

 • Completing bulk tipper deliveries of grain
\n  • No handball required
\n  • Carrying out vehicle checks before and after each shift
\n  • Ensuring loads are secure and compliant with regulations
\n  • Following planned delivery schedules and routes efficiently
\n  • Complying with all road traffic legislation and company procedures

Essential Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

 • A valid UK Category CE (Class 1) Driving Licence
\n  • A minimum of one year's HGV Class 1 (Category CE) driving experience
\n  • A valid Driver CPC Card
\n  • A valid Digital Tachograph Card
\n  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences
\n  • A professional, reliable, and safety-conscious approach

Desirable Experience

 • Previous bulk tipper driving experience is advantageous but not essential

Training Provided

 • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
