Assistant Surveying Manager
\nWe're looking for an experienced Land / Site Engineering Surveyor who wants to move beyond day-to-day site work and into a technical leadership role within one of the North West's leading surveying companies. This is a predominantly office-based position, working alongside the Surveying Manager to maintain and continually improve the quality, consistency and technical standards of the surveying department. While occasional site visits will be required for project reviews, technical support and quality inspections, the role is focused on technical oversight, quality assurance, mentoring and delivering excellence across the business rather than undertaking routine surveys.

\nThe Role
\nWorking directly alongside the Survey Manager, you'll become the second technical lead within the business and play a key role in ensuring survey deliverables are produced to the highest possible standard while supporting the development of the survey team and helping shape the future technical direction of the company through your experience gained to date
\nThis is not a day-to-day operational management role and is not a traditional site-based surveying position.
\nReviewing and quality checking survey drawings and deliverables prior to issue.
\nSupporting and maintaining company-wide technical standards and procedures.
\nAssisting with quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
\nProviding technical guidance to Surveyors, Principal Surveyors and CAD Technicians.
\nMentoring and developing junior members of the surveying team.
\nSupporting complex survey planning and methodology selection.
\nAssisting with technical aspects of quotations and tender submissions.
\nWorking closely with the Survey Manager to improve workflows and efficiencies.
\nIdentifying opportunities to improve quality, consistency and profitability.
\nSupporting the implementation of new technology, software and surveying techniques.
\nCarrying out occasional site visits for technical support, quality inspections and project reviews where required.
\nThe Person
\nThis role is ideal for an experienced surveyor who wants to use their knowledge to influence the wider business rather than spending every day on site.
\nYou'll become an integral part of the technical leadership team, helping maintain exceptional standards, supporting the development of others and contributing to the continued growth and success of the company
\nExtensive experience delivering Topographical, Measured Building and / or Utility Surveys.
\nExcellent understanding of survey control and data processing.
\nStrong knowledge of N4CE, AutoCAD and survey processing software.
\nA meticulous eye for detail and quality.
\nThe confidence to review, challenge and improve technical outputs.
\nExcellent communication and mentoring skills.
\nCommercial awareness and an understanding of efficient project delivery.
\nA desire to progress into technical management.
\nPossess a full UK Driving Licence.
\nExperience with laser scanning, UAVs, mobile mapping and BIM would be advantageous
