\n\nAbout the Role\n

We are currently seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer to join a leading global organisation at the forefront of healthcare innovation. Based in Oxfordshire, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge medical imaging technology that improves access to healthcare worldwide.
\nAs a Procurement Engineer, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of globally sourced components, driving long-term sourcing strategies and ensuring a resilient and cost-effective supply chain. This role offers a high level of autonomy and the opportunity to influence strategic sourcing decisions within a collaborative, international environment.
\n\nKey Responsibilities\n
\n
- \n
- Act as a technical interface between Procurement, R&D, and suppliers, supporting cost analysis throughout the product lifecycle \n
- Drive cost optimisation initiatives including:\n
- \n
- Cost Value Engineering (CVE) \n
- Should-cost modelling \n
- Benchmarking and target costing \n
\n - Support product development by providing cost estimates and manufacturing recommendations \n
- Partner with Procurement teams during supplier negotiations through data-driven insights \n
- Develop and standardise cost optimisation methodologies and tools \n
- Contribute to procurement transformation initiatives and digitalisation programmes \n
- Collaborate with global stakeholders across the UK, Germany, China, and international supplier base \n
\nYour Experience & Qualifications\n
\n
- \n
- Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline \n
- Proven experience in engineering and/or procurement with strong supplier engagement \n
- Strong technical knowledge of electro-mechanical components and manufacturing processes such as:\n
- \n
- Sheet metal fabrication \n
- Machining and casting \n
- Composite structures \n
- Mechanical assemblies and cable assemblies \n
\n - Demonstrated expertise in cost analysis, cost structures, and value engineering \n
\nSkills & Attributes\n
\n
- \n
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems \n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills \n
- Confident working in cross-functional and international teams \n
- Strong negotiation and influencing capabilities \n
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently \n
- Willingness to travel internationally (up to 20%) \n
