\nAspire Jobs is working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Ringwood that is looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Semi-Senior.
\nThis is a newly created position following a sustained increase in new business. The successful candidate will join a friendly and supportive team, helping the practice manage a growing client portfolio while maintaining a high standard of service and efficient turnaround times.
\nThe role will focus on accounts preparation, bookkeeping and VAT work across a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses.
\nPrevious experience within an accountancy practice is essential.
\nAbout You
\nWe are looking for someone with solid practical experience gained within an accountancy practice.
\nTo be considered, you should have:
\nAround three years experience working within an accountancy practice
\nPractical experience in accounts preparation and bookkeeping
\nExperience preparing VAT returns
\nExperience working with sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
\nA good working knowledge of Xero or similar cloud accounting software
\nStrong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately
\nGood organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
\nConfident communication skills when dealing with clients and colleagues
\nThe ability to work independently while contributing positively to the wider team
\nYou may currently be studying toward an AAT qualification, already be AAT qualified, or have developed equivalent knowledge through practical, on-the-job experience.
\nFormal qualifications are welcome, but relevant practice experience and the ability to manage a varied workload are equally important
\nThe Role
\nAs an Accounts Semi-Senior, your responsibilities will include:
\nPreparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
\nCompleting bookkeeping assignments across a varied client portfolio
\nPreparing and submitting VAT returns
\nMaintaining accurate accounting records and resolving bookkeeping queries
\nReviewing client records and identifying missing or incomplete information
\nLiaising directly with clients to obtain information and provide clear updates
\nWorking with cloud-based accounting software, including Xero
\nSupporting the timely onboarding and progression of new client work
\nManaging multiple assignments and ensuring deadlines are met
\nAssisting with management accounts and wider general practice duties where required
\nWorking closely with colleagues to improve workflow and reduce turnaround times
\nEnsuring all work is completed accurately and in line with practice standards
\nThis role would suit an experienced Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper or developing Accounts Semi-Senior who is looking for greater responsibility and a secure long-term career move.
